AUTUMN BAER

AUTUMN BAER

Autumn’s passion for dogs started when her grandmother, Nancy Baer, started “A Canine Experience Inc”. She spent many days watching her train dogs, sitting in on dog behavioral evaluations, and helping care for and train the dogs.

Autumn’s official training career began at age 7, when a problem Sheltie named Chevy came in for training. She took on this little rescue dog on as her 4-H project. She advanced Chevy’s training to the level that they had filled her room with ribbons and trophies. As Chevy aged and Autumn gained more experience, she sought other 4-H challenges, including an English Bulldog who shocked everyone with their accomplishments. She continued to train and show various dogs in 4-H until the age of 18.

While in high school, Autumn worked at “A Canine Experience Inc.” and completed the Dog Trainers Course. She also assisted her Aunt Andrea train and socialize service dogs, taking them to school and other outings. After graduation, she continued working in the family business full time participating in every aspect of the business. She is currently an owner and serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors.

After aging out of 4-H, she continued her passion and moved on to AKC dog shows. She has shown a variety of dogs in confirmation, obedience, rally, herding and agility achieving many titles.

Several years fostering dogs for Love-A-Mutt Dog Rescue contributed to Autumn’s experience managing and training dogs with different temperaments and behavior issues.

Autumn became a CGC evaluator for AKC Canine Good Citizen test in 2015.

She’s completed a course in Pet First Aid and Ashworth College Veterinary Assistant Course.

Bluie, a highly driven Belgian Sheepdog, is Autumn’s current project. The owner & breeder, Jill, brought Bluie in so Autumn could work on socialization and confidence building. Bluie refused to leave, so Jill jokingly asked if Autumn wanted him. Bluie and Autumn have been dedicated partners ever since. Bluie, who was very fearful of strangers, has made continued improvements obtaining his CGC within his first three months of being with Autumn. They’ve achieved Advanced Jumpers Preferred, Open Fast Preferred and Open Agility preferred in Agility. In 2014, they walked away with Winners Dog and Best of Opposite at the Puppy Sweeps in confirmation. The 2015 Regional Specialty proved successful winning both Winners Dog and Best of Opposite Sex in Confirmation, priming him to receive his championship that year. They also attained their Rally Novice Obedience title and PT Herding title.

Autumn continues to expand her experience taking Agility classes, competing at high levels of Agility, contending in Rally Obedience and Confirmation.
